Highest point Nicoya reached
More housing for people and animals in the middle of the city. It is possible! On Wednesday, December 4, the highest point of Nicoya in Cartesius was reached. This milestone was celebrated in the presence of invited guests. In the presence of, among others, MRP, Ballast Nedam Development, the Municipality of Utrecht, Ballast Nedam West and CBRE Investment Management, the last roof plate was hoisted onto CBRE Investment Management's Samara building. This marks the first highest point in the 2nd phase of Cartesius. In the meantime, construction employees were treated to a responsible snack at food truck Hieper de Pieper.
Bart Meijer, CEO MRP: “Today a remarkable milestone has been reached in Cartesius. The Cartesius Consortium, MRP and Ballast Nedam Development, is proud of the close collaboration with the Municipality of Utrecht, NS Stations and long-term partners like CBRE Investment Management. Together we are making it possible to realize Home for Life with high ambitions for a healthy and sustainable new urban district in Utrecht.”
The second phase will include 770 homes, including 242 homes in Nicoya, with social rental apartments and free sector owner-occupied and rental apartments. Cartesius will be a new urban district of Utrecht where biodiversity and sustainability are the basic conditions just like an abundance of space between the different elements of the district. Space to live, work and relax together or in peace; space to live! Cartesius is not just a new neighborhood; it is a blueprint for the city neighborhood of the future where people live together healthier and happier for longer. Here you can find the home that suits you, for now and in the future, a home for life.
