AMST – sustainable mixed-use new-build development

Of the 252 homes, spread over 2 buildings, 80% are for medium-priced rental apartments and 20% are apartments in the private rental sector. Some of the mid-segment rental properties are suitable for larger families with a home size of more than 100 square meters, which is quite exceptional in Amsterdam. The rental of the apartments will start this week. Si-Mohamed El M Barki, Real Estate Developer at MRP: “We are very pleased that McDonald's has chosen for the location of AMST. AMST will be a dynamic place to live, work, meet and relax.
AMST is centrally located opposite the Amstel railway station, close to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and various highways. The urban plinth includes a JUMBO supermarket, catering, a food market, an incubator and facilities for entrepreneurs. In the design a water-neutral project is realized. All rainwater is retained and reused, the roofs, courtyards and gardens function as a system for storing and reusing water. AMST is a sustainable project using sustainable materials.

McDonald's in AMST

McDonald's offers tasty and varied products, excellent service and a place where you always feel welcome. Sustainability is an important pillar of McDonald's strategy and we have been working for years to make our restaurants and packaging more sustainable. The pursuit of quality and experience is central to all facets of business operations, as is the use of its scale to increase sustainability and make a positive contribution to society. McDonald’s is expected to open in the fourth quarter of this year.

AMST was developed by MRP on behalf of real estate investor Union Investment in close collaboration with the Municipality of Amsterdam, was designed by VenhoevenCS architecture+urbanism, and realized by Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling. Project management during construction is provided by Drees & Sommer. The project will be completed in mid-2023.
