Pedestrian passage for an accessible Osdorpplein

On Friday 2 July, Ronald Mauer, member of the board of the district Amsterdam Nieuw-West, opened the new predestrian passage near the Stadsloket Nieuw-West. The new passage is an initiative of developer MRP and realized in cooperation with the municipality of Amsterdam. This will improve the accessibility of Osdorpplein during the construction works.

Attractive and easily accessible

The pedestrian passage was realized on the initiative of developer MRP in collaboration with the municipality of Amsterdam and Startpunt Nieuw-West, among others, to create a safe pedestrian crossing during the construction period. The passage is open every day and is only closed for pedestrians on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. due to construction traffic. Paul Trip, General Manager MRP: “The construction of the new projects of MRP on Osdorpplein is in full swing. It is important that Osdorpplein remains attractive and accessible to local residents, entrepreneurs and visitors during the construction period. Startpunt, the work and participation program of the municipality of Amsterdam, arranges the traffic hosts for the pedestrian passage. We are pleased that we can collaborate with Startpunt Nieuw-West, in order to be able to make a social contribution. We have the same goal in mind with the various parties in the area: to build a vibrant colorful Osdorpplein together, the center of Nieuw-West.”
