RAX Finance finances residential tower in MIX Amsterdam

In Stadscentrum Osdorpplein in Amsterdam Nieuw-West, construction of MIX Amsterdam is in full swing. This high-quality new construction project by developer MRP comprises 528 apartments, 85 of which have been financed by RAX. MIX Amsterdam is part of several realized and yet-to-be-realized developments in and around the city center that will add thousands of homes to this area. Sustainable Capital Group arranged the financing on this project for MRP.

With the realization of MIX Amsterdam, MRP once again shows itself to be a forerunner in sustainable mixed-use area developments with a sharp focus on creating quality and livable areas.  "We are delighted with the financing from RAX and the expertise of Sustainable Capital Group. By making smart choices and applying innovation, the impact of the built environment is minimised and the quality of life for people increased. Besides extremely favorable energy performance and sustainable use of materials, MIX Amsterdam also focuses on the "S" of ESG. The green indoor garden is publicly accessible and encourages interaction between people. In addition, the green courtyard garden contributes to the neighborhood’s climate resilience and biodiversity.

Financing by RAX arranged by Sustainable Capital Group

RAX is a financier characterized by its short lead times and thinking along with the entrepreneur. The financing for the 85 homes in MIX Amsterdam was arranged in collaboration with Sustainable Capital Group, a financial advisor focusing on sustainable projects. RAX Finance was assisted legally by Mobius Advocates.

Construction by Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling

Construction of MIX Amsterdam is in the hands of Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling. In addition to the 528 homes, 162 of which are social rented, the project also includes around 4,000 m² of commercial space. The public bicycle parking will provide space for over 400 bicycles and there will be 382 new parking spaces in the public parking garage, which will be in direct open connection with MRP's already realised public parking garage Parking Nieuw West. The ground floor will house shops, offices and the art and cultural centre the Verhalenhuis. The Verhalenhuis will have a broad and active programme for the neighbourhood and will be an open and accessible meeting place. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.

Leading example of EU taxonomy-compliant property development

MIX Amsterdam is being built according to the guidelines of the EU taxonomy. This taxonomy acts as a classification system that determines which economic activities are considered 'sustainable'. The development of MIX Amsterdam thus contributes substantially to making Dutch housing construction more sustainable. "We are proud of our collaboration with MRP on this unique project. Project MIX Amsterdam embodies the increasing focus on sustainability within the Dutch housing sector. The 85 energy-efficient homes financed by RAX Finance illustrate this trend. Through collaboration with Sustainable Capital Group and the dedication of all parties involved, MIX Amsterdam is building a sustainable future.

MIX Amsterdam was developed by MRP in collaboration with Gemeente Amsterdam, designed by Architekten Cie., realisation by Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling, project management during construction by Drees & Sommer.
