The Kruisvaartkade project comprises approximately 600 dwellings, of which at least 20% are social housing and 75 are in the mid-rent price range segment. The rest of the plan includes free sector owner-occupied housing.

The single-family homes are situated along the Kruisvaart, so that the building height is in line with the existing buildings in the Dichterswijk district. The Kruisvaartkade is completely gas-free and aims to be energy-neutral. The first delivery is expected in 2020.

In addition to being an ideal place to live, De Kruisvaartkade is also a place where service companies, catering establishments and a short stay formula can establish themselves. The accessibility is also excellent. Three entrances are available for cyclists and pedestrians: via the Jan van Foreestraat, the lift bridge to be renovated and the new connection to be constructed at the Da Costakade by the Trimbos institute. The area is accessible for car traffic via the Jan van Foreestraat and there are underground parking facilities. The Kruisvaartkwartier zoning plan also makes possible the next step for the ‘Ringpark Dichterswijk’ neighbourhood initiative by means of realising a green route along the Kruisvaart.
