Dentist Anna Tump opens in new build ZUIDHAVEN DE ZUID in The Hague

Today, German retail chain KiK opened its 52nd Dutch shop in the commercial plinth of MRP at Stadscentrum Osdorpplein in Amsterdam. The 600m2 shop features the very latest shop concept and a brand new assortment. KiK, with over 4,000 shops in 14 countries in Europe is now also located in Amsterdam. KiK responds to current fashion trends and offers a wide range for people, animals and gardens at consumer-friendly prices. The commercial plinth, with both retail and catering uses, is part of MRP's completed new-build project The Hub, where several entrepreneurs have already opened their doors.

Commercial units available in DE ZUID

The business premises at DE ZUID are partly intended to create a new maritime hotspot in The Hague's Scheveningen harbour. Just like the view over the sea, this unique location makes entrepreneurs part of a bustling harbour. A lively environment in the midst of a beautiful and diverse residential area. In total, DE ZUID will have approximately 5,000 m2 of business space. In the realised ZUIDHAVEN, 1 unit is still available. The 7 commercial units in ZUIDKADE will be completed by the end of 2025 and will then be available for new entrepreneurs.

Anne Ophoff, property developer MRP on behalf of DE ZUID: "The commercial units at DE ZUID are mainly aimed at entrepreneurs with innovative businesses with operations at sea. Think support and research activities for windmill and solar farms or seaweed cultivation, for example. And even the Anna Tump Dental Centre has a link to the sea, having been there for the sailors during the Allianz Sailing World Cup."

The direct and fast connection to the open sea is a major advantage for maritime entrepreneurs in the Port of Scheveningen. The business units are flexible in layout. A number of units can be split into two smaller units, which allows for responding to the wishes of the entrepreneur looking for a space. And with heights ranging from four to seven metres, boats with masts can also enter. With the greater heights, mezzanines can also be built. The municipality will redesign the quay. For instance, a lower quay for ships has already been constructed and shore power will also be installed when ZUIDKADE is realised.

Area development DE ZUID

DE ZUID is a development by MRP and VORM in the Hague. The total plan consist about 400 homes, about 25 commercial units and 750 parking spaces. From luxury apartments to ground-level homes, surrounded by harbours, beach and sea. Subareas ZUIDDUIN and ZUIDHAVEN have previously been realised. Construction of the third phase ZUIDKADE is underway for both the 75 flats, 14 townhouses and the 7 commercial units. Subsequent phases ZUIDZICHT, ZUIDBAAI and ZUIDHOF will complete the plan in the future.

LEVS Architects and ZECC Architects provided the designs for the flats. HOYT Architects and Broos de Bruijn architects designed the plan's townhouses. ZUIDKADE is being realised by VORM Bouw. Completion of ZUIDKADE is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
