Post Utrecht wins DUIC Audience Prize - Rietveld Prize 2022

What an honour: Post Utrecht wins the DUIC Audience Prize, part of the Rietveld Prize 2022. Yesterday, the coveted Utrecht architecture awards were presented in the Bibliotheek Utrecht Neude. Post Utrecht was declared the winner of the DUIC Audience Prize with no less than 40% of the votes. We are extremely proud and as Karianne Vandenbroucke of Rijnboutt said in her speech: "Perhaps this prize is even more honourable than the jury prize. We made the building for the Utrecht residents and visitors, as a living room of the city." Also heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the jury prize: the beautiful Catharijnesingel Zuid project by OKRA landschapsarchitects.

Words of praise of jury

The professional jury led by Janneke Bierman praised Post Utrecht in the jury report: "The building volume added at the rear on the former expedition site feels natural as it playfully builds on the lines and texture of the old building, without being historicising. The ceramic cladding gives a proud appearance to the second front on Oudegracht, where a busy bookshop is now located."
